I began my career in Food and Travel Writing and Photography in
2001 and a global jaunt to more than 50 countries ensued. I have spent much of the new millennium getting lost in Latin America and Southeast Asia, while living semi-permanently in Lima, Peru and the US.
At the moment I reside with my wife Claudia in New York City, on the very westernmost street in the very northwest corner of Brooklyn where we can see the Manhattan skyline out our windows.
My work searches for the small mysteries in a world that seems to be losing them. Assignments have taken me to the far flung corners of the planet for weeks and even months at a time. I have written about everything from traveling with Mp3 players, selling Moroccan rugs on eBay, the temples of Angkor in Cambodia, cooking with Guinness Beer, organic foods, mystery shopping, and much, much more.
Along the way I have attained a thorough understanding of the Spanish language, elementary French and Italian, and bits of Portuguese and Quechua. I hold a degree in journalism from The Ohio State University, certificates in web design, and have taken culinary classes in Thailand, India, and Peru. |
